T23 Design Rounds

Design and Build

After the team of Project Manager, Researchers, and Art Director, selected an initial sketch for the upcoming T23 Frameworks website design, I worked through a series of variations to include art work from the Report Brochure and thought through the responsive and various media-query aspects.

I took the final selection of those rounds back and built our first static version of the site timssandpirls.bc.edu/timss2023 which will later be built using WordPress and a wholly new theme using Automatic’s Underscores, a tool to assist with barebones theme creation.

New WP left navigation development

Creation of a new WordPress included much discussions about the cost/benefit of multiple page anchors in the left side menu. I created wires and click-thrus to experience whether the length of the menu, the amount of scrolling, and unclear advantage of subheads in the nav, were worth it. Ultimately we decided to keep it simple.

TIMSS 2019: Monitoring Trends in Mathematics and Science Achievement
The TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) is a well established international assessment of mathematics and science at the fourth and eighth grades. TIMSS 2019 is the most recent in the TIMSS trend series with about 60 countries using trend data for monitoring the effectiveness of their educational systems in a global context.

This project presents an updated wireframe for ultimate presentation of the vast array of data in a new WordPress installation to be released with finalized scores later in 2020.
